The Executive Chairman of Badagry Local Government, Hon. Husitode Moses Dosu has tasked members of the Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI) posted to Badagry to be disciplined in their bid towards ensuring the sanity and sanctity of Badagry Local Government.
This was made known to KAI officials led by its Commandant, Akinlotan Bunmi, who, together with his brigade, in front of the Chairman’s office at the Council Secretariat on Friday, December 11, 2009.
Commandant Akinlotan Bunmi noted that his brigade was newly posted to Badagry and that its mission was to sensitize the people of Badagry on the need to make the environment friendly as well as keep the environment clean.
Commandant Akinlotan reflected that since two weeks ago that its brigade commenced operation in Badagry, it had succeeded in keeping the Badagry Roundabout clean as well as warding off traffic congestion on the highway. He pleaded with Hon. Husitode Moses Dosu to help them with temporary office inside the complex of Badagry Local Government.
In his response, the Executive Chairman of Badagry Local Government, Hon. Husitode Moses Dosu said he was happy with the work done by KAI so far in Badagry as well as in Lagos State. He noted that Oshodi used to be a jungle but is now a tourist attraction as a result of the effort of Governor Babatunde Raji Fashols.
He enjoined the KAI brigade to sensitize the people of Badagry and not to extort from them.
In the same development, the Supervisor for Environment in Badagry Local Government, Hon. Kuyimo Moses said there had been improvement in sanitation exercise since KAI came to Badagry. He said before the advent of KAI to Badagry, he had attended meetings in Lagos stressing for environmental agencies to come to Badagry. He opined that his prayers had been answered.
“I want to,” he said, “appeal to the people of Badagry to respect the officials of KAI, adjust to the law of the land so that we can take Badagry to the next level.”
