The Executive Chairman of Badagry Local Government, Hon. Husitode Moses Dosu has donated a Folding Wheelchair to Iyabo Yeyi, a physically-challenged lady.

The presentation took place in front of the office of the chairman, on Thursday, September 3rd, 2009 in the presence of the Council’s lawmakers.

The Chairman disclosed that he was moved to tears the first time he saw Iyabo, crippled on both legs and arms, without a wheel chair to ease her mobility.

“I was moved to tears,” he said, “ the first time I saw Iyabo. There was no one to help her. I figured there were ways we could assist the diabled and that is what we have done today. Before now, I made a promise to procure Iyabo a wheelchair when I saw her; today is promise fulfilled. The physically-callenged should be made important because they are part of the system.”

The Chairman revealed that Iyabo was not the first disabled to be ‘given a new lease of life.’ He said that a number of the less-privildged had been assisted while three educated blind men had been offered employment in the Local Government.

In her response, Iyabo thanked the chairman for getting her a Folding Wheel Chair. “I want to thank the Chairman, Hon. Husitode Moses Dosu for his kind gesture and for looking into my plight. I pray that he shall move from strenght to strenght as he solves the daily needs of the people of Badagry,” she said.

In his reaction, the guardian of Iyabo Yeyi, Monday Honfovu broke down into tears as he thanked the chairman of Badagry Local Government, Hon. Husitode Moses Dosu for coming to the need of her ward.
“The wisdom and understanding needed by him to administer Badagry will be continually bestowed on him by God,” he prayed.
