Nigerian Students Confer Merit Award on Hon. Husitode Moses Dosu

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) on Friday, the 20th of November, conferred on Hon. Husitode Moses Dosu, the Executive Chairman of Badagry Local Government, as the Most Outstanding Community Builder Chairman in Lagos State, South Western Nigeria, at the NANS 2009 Prestigious Platinum Award.
The NANS Award is a yearly appraisal of outstanding leaders at the grassroots level.
The Award ceremony was held inside the Council Chamber of Badagry Local Government; it was presented to Hon. Husitode Moses Dosu by Balogun Hameed, Chairman, Award Planning Committee. Other members of the NANS’ leadership like Adeosun Williams, Senate President; Yinka Dallas, former Secretary General; and Bashir Baballe, President; were on ground to confer the Award on the Chairman.
The National Association of Nigerian Students, through Balogun Hameed disclosed that Hon. Husitode Moses Dosu would soon be officially inducted into the NANS’ Hall of Fame.
Before the Award presentation proper, the students had held their 62nd Senate Meeting at Federal University of Technology, Yola. It was at the meeting that it was unanimously agreed upon that Hon. Husitode Moses Dosu should be awarded because he was a pacesetter in Lagos State.
A letter earlier sent to the office of the Chairman of Badagry Local Government, Hon. Husitode Moses Dosu and made available to newsmen revealed that the nomination and subsequent ratification of Hon. Husitode Moses Dosu was borne out of his uniqueness, transparency, productiveness and his good gesture to the present generation.
In his response, the Executive Chairman of Badagry Local Government, Hon. Husitode Moses Dosu thanked the National Association of Nigerian Students’ for the Award. He said he was optimistic that the Award would continue to spur him to greater heights.
It will be recalled that just two weeks ago, the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, House Committee on States and Local Government Administration, adjudged Hon. Husitode Moses Dosu as the Best-Performing Council Chairman in Lagos State.
Indeed, Hon. Husitode Moses has blazed a number of trails in his first year in office. This has been made possible by his commitment to his nine-point agenda which include Health Improvement, Educational Development, Poverty Alleviation, Environment and Sustainable Development, Youths, Sports and Cultural Development, as well as building a communal partnership for development.
The Award Ceremony was well attended by students in Nigerian tertiary institutions, National Association of Badagry Students, Legislators in Badagry Local Government led by the Leader of the House, Hon. Taiwo Demawu and members of the Local Government Executive Council led by the Council Manager, Dehinde Oyetayo; Joseph Sokenu, Supervisor for Works; Kuyimo Moses, Supervisor for Environment; and Saliu Lateef, Special Adviser to the Chairman on Youth, Sports, and Culture.
Also in attendance were traditional rulers led by the Wawu of Badagry, Jengen of Badagry, Wheton Poton and the Baale of Javie
