Group Gives Free Medical Services to Patients in Badagry

A non-governmental organization, under the aegis of Association of Private Medical Practitioners of Nigeria, Badagry Chapter, on Thursday, the 19th of November, gave out free medical services to patients in Badagry Local Government.
The one-day free medical services was done in collaboration with Badagry Local Government under the leadership of Hon. Husitode Moses Dosu, the Executive Chairman of Badagry Local Government. The exercise was performed inside the newly-refurbished Council Chamber.
Commenting on the exercise, the leader of the medical team, Dr. E.A. Aina of Ademola Hospital said the exercise became imperative for two reasons: to create awareness for deadly diseases that people did not heed to and secondly, to give back to the society in the area of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
Dr. Aina noted that in the past, people died because they were not aware of ailments that confronted them or they were aware but thought such ailments were not life-threatening. He added that the free medical services was meant to correct this imbalance.
Inside the refurbished Council Chamber, thirteen doctors, eight laboratory scientists and ten nurses were on hand to give free health services.
The doctors on call were: Dr. Aina E.A of Ademola Hospital, Ijanikin; Dr. Adebiyi G.D of Ketu Medical Centre, Ijanikin; Dr. Akinlade B.A of Great Physician Hospital, Badagry; Dr. Akinmolayemi I.O of Ever-Life Hospital, Ijanikin; Dr. Kuti O.O of Marvellous Hospital, Oko-Afo; and Dr. Onyedika D.C of Dental Clinic, Onyems Hospital, Iyana-Iba.
Others included Dr. Oki O.O of Ola-Oki Medical Centre, Ibereko; Dr. Okoro C.C of Almaz Clinic, Iba Estate; Dr. Emedolu L.N of New St. Louis Hospital, Isashi; Dr. Seriki L.A of Seriki Abimbola Hospital, Badagry; Dr. Ogundipe J.A of Christ Foundation Hospital Morogbo; Dr. Vittu Rebecca of Ola-Oki Hospital, Ibereko; and Dr. Iheonkhan Jerry of the Great Physician Hospital, Badagry.
The Supervisor for Health, Hon. Oluwakemi Rabiu and the Senior Special Assistant on Health to the Executive Chairman of Badagry Local Government, Hon. Ogbejesim Chinedu Kenneth were on hand to assist the doctors perform the one-day free health services.
At the end of the day’s work, three hundred and one (301) patients, including the Executive Chairman of Badagry Local Government, Hon. Husitode Moses Dosu, received medical check-up and treatment.
Some of the facilities that were given to patients free of charge included: free test of blood level, sugar level, administration of free drugs on the patients, and meeting with the doctors.
An elated Chairman of Badagry Local Government, Hon. Husitode Moses Dosu remarked that the one-day exercise represented one of his cardinal visions of providing curative and preventive health services to the people of Badagry.
