Hon. Husitode Moses Dosu Confers Certificates on Graduands

The Executive Chairman of Badagry Local Government, Hon. Husitode Moses Dosu, with members of the management team of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)/Badagry Local Government Vocational and Training Centre, Thursday the 24th of September, conferred on graduands of the institute, certificates.
The Chairman revealed that he was elated and overwhelmed graduating another set of students at the Vocational Skills Acquisition Centre. He noted that this was the second time since he assumed office, that he would confer certificates on graduands.
The Chairman, Hon. Husitode Moses Dosu, paid tributes to instructors at the institute. He described them as ‘instructors made from heaven,’ because of the way and manner they have taken up teaching at the institute. Hon. Husitode Moses Dosu reflected that the instructors had taught the students as though they were their children.
He advised graduands as they go into the society to be law-abiding and be good ambassadors of the institute. “They should employ what they have learnt here,” he said.
In a similar development, the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Setonji Balogun revealed that he felt great and fulfilled being part of the management team that graduated students at the institute. He noted that the government cannot employ everybody, hence the need by some people to be self-employed. He opined that Badagry Local Government in collaboration with the UNDP had done much to improve facilities at the Vocational Centre. He added that vocational skills’ acquisition is a right step in the right direction towards fighting poverty. He belives poverty has been reduced in Badagry because the 52 students graduated would earn their way out of poverty.
The Council Manager of Badagry Local Government, Mr. Dehinde Oyetayo thanked the Chairman, Hon. Husitode Moses Dosu for coming to the aid of the institute. He however tasked the Chairman to continue to improve existing facilities at the institute. Equally, he harped on the need for the graduands to employ lessons gained at the institute for the development of themselves and the society.
The Council Manager also enjoined the UNDP to continue to live up to its obligations while Badagry Local Government would continue to offer the needed support. He noted that the Vocational Centre is recognized internationally, hence, all hands must be on deck so that it will not die.
In his speech, the Supervisor for Agriculture and Chairman, Planning Committee, Hon. Isaiah Kappo said that the institution has come a long way to fulfil the aims and objectives of the founding fathers of the institution. He added that since the training centre was established in 2003, it has graduated over 500 students.
In her speech, the Acting Principal and representative of the UNDP, Mrs. Veronica Akinsanya thanked God and the Executive Chairman of Badagry Local Government for coming to the aid of the institution.
